What is the connection between the Federal Logistics and Mobility Office and cycling? The name of our institution does not really give any clues about our new and exciting tasks in the field of "Modern Mobility". Why does the Federal Office for Goods Transportation in particular dispose over funding programmes for the sustainable development of a safe and environmentally sound mobility concept?

Work where new roads are being explored!

The German Government's climate-policy objectives and the significant changes in the urban mobility situation have contributed amongst others to the increasingly important role of environmental and climate protection in Germany. By promoting alternative propulsion systems and bicycle traffic and by supporting local public transport, the Federal Office for Goods Transportation has made a major contribution to a modern mobility and transport policy in the Federal Republic. By working in the field of “Modern Mobility”, you also participate in the shaping of our future!

As granting authority for funding programmes in the area of road haulage, we can draw on several years of experience and expertise with such schemes. This advantage is used to the benefit of our current funding programmes for modern mobility:

bicycle traffic

local public transport pilot projects

emergency financial assistance for the coach industry

equipping vehicles with turning assistant (Abbiegeassistenzsysteme - AAS)

compensations for specific airports
