But what does an administrative clerk or an IT specialist actually do?
As an administrative clerk – specialising in Federal administration
you are involved in the creation and execution of budgets
you are responsible for the procurement of material and other economic goods (e.g. motor vehicles) for the authority and participate in awarding measures
completing administrative and organisational tasks (e.g. creating files and making notes) in personnel recruitment, personnel development and management
As an IT specialist – specialising in system integration
making customer-specific information and communication solutions
you network hardware and software components to form complex systems
advise and support users in the case of questions and problems

Training locations:
You can learn the profession of administrative clerk in a total of eight of our eleven branch offices and in our head office in Cologne. At the head office, we also offer training positions in the profession of IT specialist:
Both training courses take place in the dual system, i.e. at two learning locations. In addition to the training at the authority, an external vocational school is attended. We also offer learning offices in the head office and in the training branch offices.

Duration of training:
The regular training period is three years each. Under certain conditions, the training can be shortened by up to 1.5 years.
