Cycletransport

The bicycle is very much in vogue. It is one of the most important and most sustainable means of transportation. As the central lead partner for the promotion of cycling on behalf of the BMVD, the BAG is the first point of contact for a lot of questions referring to the funding and the promotion of bicycle traffic. Thus, the BAG makes an essential contribution to the sustainable shaping of a safe, environmentally suitable mobility and to the accomplishment of the climate protection goals in the area of mobility.

Radverkehr

The National Cycling Plan (Nationaler Radverkehrsplan, NRVP) forms the basis of future-oriented cycling and mobility politics in Germany. Beyond the promotion of cycling, it is intended to strengthen the integrated environmental system of local public transport service, pedestrian traffic and bicycle traffic as a whole. In April 2021, the Federal Cabinet adopted the new NRVP 3.0, which is applicable until 2030. This is the cycling strategy of the Federal Government, applicable until 2030. For the first time, the citizens that were called upon to participate in the development of the cycling plan. The following issues were most important to them: cycling networks without gaps and bicycle commuting. Der NRVP 3.0 includes key objectives, specific proposals and recommendations for action. Ihre wichtigsten Anliegen: lückenlose Radverkehrsnetze und das Fahrradpendeln. Der NRVP 3.0 beinhaltet Leitziele, konkrete Vorschläge und Handlungsempfehlungen.
