The Federal Logistics and Mobility Office gives its opinion on legislative projects by the Federal Ministry of Digitals and Transport and other bodies. There are also initiatives for necessary adjustments to national, European and international traffic law. At the same time, the Federal Logistics and Mobility Officeis working on the preparation and implementation of Federal and State committees regarding various areas of law and, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Digitals and Transport, sends representatives to working groups at national, European and international level.
The current focus in the area of legal development includes the implementation of Mobility Package I:
After the amending acts of the European Union from Mobility Package I have come into force, the next step is to adapt the national legal provisions to the new requirements.
Mobility Package I provides for numerous legal changes in the areas of posting of professional drivers, market and professional access as well as social regulations.
The Federal Logistics and Mobility Office supports the Federal Ministry of Digitals and Transport in implementing the resulting legal adjustments in national law.
While the new regulations under European law relating to the Market and Occupational Access Regulations (EC) No. 1071/2009 and No. 1072/2009 will not take effect until 21 February 2022, the new regulations in the area of social regulations have been largely in effect since 20 August 2020.
The Federal Logistics and Mobility Office Transport has therefore summarised the essential changes to the driving and rest times from Mobility Package I in the flyer “Mobility Package 2020 - Information on Social Regulations in Road Traffic”. This is available in the following downloads in a total of 21 languages.
